Rangers fans flipped the script and tested their own athletic prowess as part of the "Ranger Town 5-K" on Sunday.

The New York Rangers and Northwell Health held the 2nd annual event in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

Participants helped raise more than $39,000 for taking part.

The money raised will go towards the Garden of Dreams Foundation and Northwell Health Foundation.

"This is the essence of community, walking together, doing things for the right reasons, raising some money, helping kids. That's what it's all about," said Michael Dowling, the President of Northwell Health.

Those taking part in event also got a chance to meet some former and current Rangers players.
