Christmas this year won't be as bright in one Queens neighborhood.

For the first time in 23 years, retired firefighter Kevin Lynch will not turn his house on 23rd Avenue in Whitestone, into a Christmas wonderland.

He announced on Facebook he decided to take a year off to enjoy other people's Christmas displays.

He also says he needs to come up with a traffic control plan to make sure kids and families who visit his home are safe from all the traffic his display brings to the neighborhood.

Lynch is hoping for some help from the 109th precinct.

He promises to be back next year bigger and better.
