The New York City Marathon may have started on Staten Island but many consider the halfway point to be in Queens.

Members of the Woodside-Sunnyside Runners Club were among the 2 million spectators at this year’s event.

Many of them set up on the other side of the Pulaski Bridge to give all runners a warm welcome into the borough.

"I want to represent Queens powerfully and with friendly faces and enthusiasm because this is such an accomplishment for them and we love Queens so we want to represent them well,” said one.

The runners club also had 37 members who took part in the race.

This was the 47th year for the marathon.
