2 new reports show Queens College is one of the best in the country when it comes to empowering students.

The Center for World Universal Rankings put the school in the top four-percent for quality of education, faculty and alumni employment. That was out of nearly 28,000 colleges.

A Stanford University report found Queens College was the 10th best public school in the country at giving students the tools to move up the economic and social ladder.

"You're coming to a place that might charge you less. You're not getting less of an education. On the other hand, you're getting the best education possible. You're transforming your life," said President Felix Matos-Rodriguez.

Queens College first opened 80 years ago this fall.
