A commercial flight made an emergency landing at Kennedy Airport on Monday night after birds struck the plane, according to officials.

JetBlue Flight 877 departed from Boston around 4:45 p.m. Monday, bound for Las Vegas.

Federal Aviation Administration officials said the plane flew through a flock of birds.

The crew declared an emergency out of an "abundance of caution" and diverted to JFK Airport, where it safely landed just before 7:30 p.m., JetBlue officials said.

No injuries were reported and there was no word on whether the plane suffered any damage.

JetBlue officials said the passengers will be re-accommodated on another aircraft.

An investigation is underway.

The landing brought back memories of the Jan. 15, 2009 "Miracle on the Hudson," which was also caused by a bird strike.

The pilots were able land that plane on the Hudson River, just west of Manhattan, without any casualties.
