Looking to get pumped up about Halloween and the fall season? You may want to treat yourself to a visit to Governors Island.

The island's Picnic Point has been turned into a sea of orange, with 2,000 pumpkins that are ripe for the picking, starting Saturday.

There will also be fall-themed food options, arts and crafts, and spooky hayrides.

"Instead of going out of town, like you said, this is an opportunity for New Yorkers to experience fall right at their doorstep," said Michael Samuelian, president and CEO of the Trust for Governors Island. "You don't have to get into a car. You can take a subway and a quick ferry ride to be in trees and enchanting colors and on a hayride and picking pumpkins and drinking cider and eating donuts and doing all the fun stuff without going very far away."

Governors Island will be open until October 31. This is the first time it's been open this late into the season.
