A Belle Harbor man is gearing up for a long ride that'll help bring food to homebound New Yorkers.

Local real estate agent Nicholas Compagnone and a team from Douglas Elliman Real Estate will be riding 100 miles from New Canaan Connecticut to Chester on Saturday.

It's all part of the fifth annual Ride to REiNVENT, which raises money and awareness for God's Love We Deliver.

The nonprofit brings food to homebound New Yorkers.

Last year, Compagnone raised about $5,000 biking through New Jersey while taking part in the annual fundraiser.

As of Tuesday afternoon, he'd raised nearly $5,300.

"Riding my bike for a good cause, getting in shape and helping people that are in desperate need of food, it's a double win for me," said Compagnone.
