Edwin Cadiz told NY1 he’s been fighting a losing battle.

Months after he told the city promised to remove garbage trucks parking in front of the Ravenswood Houses by the fall, he said it’s gotten worse.

“If you would have been here last week they were not only double parked they were triple parked,” said Cadiz.

The issue stems from a truck depot on the corner of 21st street and 35th Avenue.  Officials said the old, outdated facility is simply over capacity.

Mayor deBlasio had promised $130 million to build a new depot elsewhere but no timeline was set.

Cadiz told NY1 residents are feeling resigned.

“A lot of people say it’s a waste of time they won we lost,” said Cadiz.

In June, sanitation officials announced what appeared to be a temporary fix.

They promised to relocate some of the snow equipment in the depot to free up space. They also said they would look for off-site parking for vehicles.

This week however, officials told NY1 that they are still seeking that parking solution hoping to establish it by the end of the year.

Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer told NY1 enough is enough.

“These trucks need to be moved and they shouldn’t be double and triple parked that’s clear everyone agrees, but, what we haven’t seen is the action that we need from the department of sanitation and we need the commissioner to move these trucks now,” said Van Bramer.

Sanitation officials said they will continue to work closely with the community to address their concerns.  Yet when asked specifically about the council member's statement, they did not respond other than to apologize for the inconvenience.

For Cadiz, who’s worried the trucks pose a hazard, said although he’s at his wits end, he’ll continue to fight.

“I made a promise that even if I drop dead I was going to get these trucks off of 35th avenue,“ said Cadiz.
