Two teens from Woodside are calling on immigration officials to stop the deportation of their father.

The Sharif sisters said Tuesday that their father Bablu Sharif was taken into federal custody back in June, just days before his scheduled check-in with authorities.

The 52-year-old arrived in the US from Bangladesh nearly 25 years ago and received deferred deportation status under the Obama administration.

His daughters, who are US citizens, say he is being held at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, detention center in Arizona.

The ladies said he was taken away during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, a sacred time for Muslims.

"It was them, the ICE people, knocking and taking him away. And he was crying…" said Simiran Sharif of her father.

"He doesn't deserve this. He doesn't have any criminal record. He never, he is such a caring father and such a good person," said Samiha Sharif, Sharif's other daughter.

ICE officials did not respond to NY1's request for comment on this story.
