An art exhibit in Jamaica shines a light on social justice problems.

The Social Justice Art Show features nearly two dozen pieces exploring hot button issues.

Topics include gender equality, mass incarceration and more.

Most of the artists are from the borough, including some pieces made by children from Rochdale focusing the environment.

"Social justice issues are very important to the people in this community," said Rory Lancman, (D) City Council, Queens.

"Hopefully some of the issues that's here in the paintings that they will think about when they leave because the paintings has stirred a curiousity," said Wanda Best, Social Justice Art Show Co-Curator.

The art show will be on display through September 29th at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning.
