The market is held right outside the medical facility, allowing folks in the area a chance to stock up on locally grown produce.

The market includes a cooking demonstration where visitors can learn how to make chard and beet green salad.

Shoppers will also be able to receive 2 dollars off of their next purchase when using their SNAP card.

Organizers of the greenmarket say summer brings a lot of variety.

"So many things are in season, said Cheryl Huber, Greenmarket Assistant Director at GrowNYC.  “We have the first blackberries here at the Elmhurst Greenmarket.  We have cherries."

Chang Yoo, Elmhurst Hospital’s Chief of Diagnostic Clinic, adds, “Good corn.  Onions and kale.  You name it, it's out here!”

The Green Market will be open on Tuesdays from 8am to 4pm until November 21st.
