Two wheels, and four years in business. The bike-sharing program Citi Bike celebrates a birthday this Memorial Day weekend.

In fact, Citi Bike is four years old today. It started with 6,000 bikes, and by the end of this year will aim to have 12,000 bikes at more than 700 stations in certain parts of the city.

Since 2013, the company has expanded to Queens and additional neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Officials say Prospect Heights and Crown Heights will get Citi Bike by the end of 2017.

Advocates are also calling for the service to be made available in the Bronx and on Staten Island.

Citi Bike says it has more than 124,000 members.
