An international soccer player's soccer academy is expanding into Astoria.

David Villa played a few rounds with members of his soccer academy on an indoor soccer field Wednesday afternoon.

The former World Cup superstar's DV7 Soccer Academy has expanded from Manhattan to Queens.

It's designed to teach young soccer players how to perfect their skills in various positions on the field such as goalkeeper, defender and fullback.

The kids say it also gets them ready to become the world's next big soccer star.

"I think it prepares me for future soccer because I have an experience with him and I can learn more," said soccer player John Kennedy.

The academy will hold tryouts for other players to join the program on June 8th and June 11th.
