Some fourth and fifth graders in Cambria Heights are looking for community support to help make their futures brighter.

Students at P.S.176 started a GoFundMe page to raise money for their group called "Future Problem Solvers." The goal is to attend a conference in Wisconsin where they will participate in an International Scenario Writing Competition.

The teams will submit projects where they will present ways to resolve issues in their community and the world. The students are thinking of ways to alleviate traffic in front of their school and they also want to combat global identity theft.

"I feel very excited because well it's my first year and being in first place means a lot to me," said one student.

"There's a large cost associated with the trip. We have 22 students participating and it's about a thousand dollars a student," said P.S. 176 Advisor Mark Coccarelli.

The group also held bake sales to help with their fundraising efforts.
