The City Council has passed three bills dealing with women's health proposed by a Queens council woman.

Council Member Elizabeth Crowley says the legislation aims to protect access to healthcare and reproductive rights for women. She introduced the three bills late last year over concerns the Trump Administration may try to roll back access to women's health services.

“We need to make sure that women have access to vaccines that prevent cancer-causing diseases, that women have access to all types of birth control, and that in areas of the city where we have a high mortality rate for maternal mortality, we need to make sure that we're giving access to programs to those districts who need it the most,” said Crowley on Wednesday, which was International Women's Day.

All three bills passed unanimously on March 1, the first day of Women’s History Month.
