Applications are now open to Queens artists for a new residency program in Long Island City.

The Queens Center on the Arts announced their first ever Art Hotel Residency Program.

Two artists will be chosen to set up shop for three months -- one at The Paper Factory Hotel and the other at the Z N Y C Hotel.

And while they won't be living there -- each will get a three thousand dollar stipend.

Organizer Lynn Lobell says the program will be good for artists and the community.

"Artists are always challenged with finding space to create their work. And also we thought it might be kind of fun to have artists working in a space where it would actually be open to the public and the public would actually have a chance to see how artists work and to see the process of making art," said Lobell.

The deadline for applications is March first at 5 p.m.
