Some local organizations in Queens will soon have some extra donations to hand out.

The Queens Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity and Councilman I. Daneek Miller sponsored a daylong clothing drive on Saturday in Queens Village.

Residents are still being encouraged to go through their closet and donate whatever they no longer needed.

Donations can still be dropped off at the Councilman's office.

"Children need clothing for school. Uh, Adults need every day wear, also, you know, to get up for that job interview," Queens Councilman I. Daneek Miller.

After Saturday's collection wrapped up, members of the fraternity sorted through the donation items for local distribution.

"One man's trash is another man's treasure. So we want to make sure that our community gets good, good clothes," said volunter James Johnson, a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Members of the Queens Chapter of Omega Psi Phi are in the process of organizing a June golf tournament that will help raise money for scholarship money.
