A suspect is facing charges for illegally selling ivory in Queens.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation says the officers seen here during a plain-clothes operation on February 1st.

Officers contacted the seller after finding a Craigslist post advertising the material. They then set up a meeting at a location in the borough to confirm the authenticity of the 38 ivory pieces. After agreeing on a sales price, the plainclothes officers called in uniformed officers to make the arrest.

The seller faces charges of illegal commercialization of ivory and offering the sale of ivory.
