A miniature boat "docked" at a local library is giving Queens residents an early look at the city's new ferry service.

A scale model of one the ferry boats is on display at the Queens Library at Peninsula in Rockaway Beach. It shows room for 150 passengers and extra space for strollers, bikes and even surf boards.

The Citywide Ferry is set to start making stops in Astoria, Long Island City and the Rockaways this summer.

Representatives from Hornblower, the company running the ferry boats, hope showing the model will make a splash in the community.

“By having it here, it just helps it feel more real, that this is coming and this project is actually not just talk but underway,” said Cameron Clark, Hornblower’s Senior Vice President of Development.

“It's a good source for people to see it and it's a good opportunity for us to have a discussion with the community, the people that come in and ask questions about it,” added Matthew Allison, Community Library Manager for Queens Library at Peninsula.

The model will available to the public at the library through January 15th.
