A celebration of words is in store for Bayside. Local authors will share their works at The Bayside Council for the Arts' "Literary Night" this weekend.

People should expect comedy, poetry, film readings and more.

Organizer Gregg Sullivan says literary nights provide entertainment that makes you think.

“People are speaking to each other through literature, always have,” Sullivan said. “But they're doing it right here in Bayside too. So we are merging the community with the people in it that are writers and are speaking in those languages that we all want to hear, that are a little deeper, a little bit more intellectually engaging and stimulating than the usual stuff you may see.”

The shows kick off at 7:00pm on Friday and Saturday and at 3:30pm on Sunday.

Tickets are $15 for students and seniors and $20 for everyone else.
