An Astoria pharmacy owner is now collecting gifts for his 11th annual toy drive.

Harry Xidias, the owner and pharmacist at City View Pharmacy, collaborated with The Blue Child Project.

A former New York police officer started the charitable organization, The Blue Child Project.

Participants of the charity dress up in costume and bring donated toys to kids in the hospital on Christmas Day.

Xidias said he felt compelled to team up with the organization for this year's toy drive.

"When you're sick and you're not feeling well in the hospital it means a lot," says Xidias. "So just putting a smile on the face on that child and having the family feel that someone actually cares and gives. That's what we're striving for."

City View Pharmacy is located at 23-07 Astoria Boulevard and is accepting unwrapped gifts until December 20 at 7 p.m.
