After screenings all over the world, a documentary shot in Broad Channel is making its Queens debut.

Producers of "Saving Jamaica Bay" will show their film for free at the American Legion on Cross Bay Boulevard next Wednesday.

The documentary follows locals fighting to revitalize Jamaica Bay as it faces rising sea levels, pollution and the aftermath from Hurricane Sandy.

Producers say bringing the film home to Broad Channel will give residents a chance to see the progress they've made.

"I hope they see Jamaica Bay in a different light.  Most people think we're just a polluted estuary but really it's an amazing place with an amazing diversity of wildlife," said Don Riepe, the ‘Jamaica Bay Guardian.’

"I think it's important for everyone now that we're gotten past it, and not for everybody...some people are still rebuilding, but I think bringing it home to Broad Channel is kind of a big thing for me right now,” said Dan Mundy Sr., a longtime Broad Channel resident.

The screening will start at 6:30 p.m. on October 26.
