A brand new beer festival is on tap for this weekend in Long Island City.

LIC Flea and Food will be serving up its first ever Queens Beer Festival Saturday and Sunday. The celebration will bring eight craft brewers from around the borough, each with a signature and a seasonal beer. There will also be brewers from Brooklyn, Staten Island and other parts of the region.

Organizers say that the Queens beer scene has foamed over in the past few years and this festival is a way to highlight it.

“I think it's about celebrating local,” said Elizabeth Aloni, the festival’s organizer. “Celebrating what we can create here in Queens, celebrating a love of craft beer and a love of our neighbors.”

“Long Island City has been very supportive as a community for beers,” added Ethan Long, the owner of Rockaway Brewing Company. “So I think it’s good to have a kind of a showcase as a place where there are people who very enthusiastic about craft beers.”

Tickets start at $29 and you do need one in advance to get in.
