Sunnyside is setting the stage for a superhero film shoot.
Crews were filming scenes for Spider-Man: Homecoming on 43rd Street between Queens Blvd and 43rd Avenue Tuesday.
Signs show the movie's working title as 'Summer of George' which sources say is a Seinfeld reference designated to keep the blockbuster shoot under wraps.
But the buzz traveled quickly and those we spoke with are excited to see their neighborhood on the big screen.
“It'll be exciting to see how the neighborhood is depicted,” said Rachel Thieme, Executive Director of the Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District. “I've spoken to a few business owners who are hopeful that their business name will make it into the movie.”
“It makes it just more like the comics. You know someone from Queens,” said Sunnyside resident Miguel Carabantas.
Crews were also filming in Astoria earlier this week.
