The Greater Jamaica Development Corporation (GJDC) wants to turn land they own into a massive new residential and retail development.

The group just issued a request for proposals for a parking lot off of 90th Avenue and 168th Street in Jamaica. They'd like to see it turned into affordable housing units with plenty of retail space.

“Jamaica has not seen a lot of private investment over the years and it's finally starting to come,” said Hope Knight, President/CEO of the GJDC. “That's why people should care about it, because it's really going to expand economic opportunities for the people that live and work here.”

The deadline to submit a proposal is December 2nd.
