Work is underway on a big infrastructure project in Ozone Park.

The city announced Tuesday that crews have started working on the $41.5 million project. It will bring nearly three miles of new sewer lines and more than three miles of new water mains to the neighborhood.

Officials say the additional sewer capacity and new catch basins will improve drainage and help mitigate flooding.

The project will also include resurfaced roadways, new sidewalks and improved lighting.

Here's a look at the area that will see improvements.

The work is set to be complete in late 2018.
