Raise a Glass and Raise Money for LIC YMCA

You can raise a glass for a good cause this week in Long Island City.

To raise money for families who can't afford memberships, the Long Island City YMCA  is holding its Sixth Annual Wine Tasting & Auction Wednesday.

Doors at Square Wine and Spirits on Jackson Avenue open at 6:30pm.

They will honor leaders in the community-- who help make Y-M-C-A activities possible.

The event will feature food from local restaurants, wine, a wine trivia contest,  an auction and more.

"Come with your belly empty, with your wine belly empty and also come just wanting to understand the importance of giving back to kids and families in the Long Island City community, "said Executive Director of Long Island City YMCA, Ebony Conely-Young.
