A JetBlue pilot faces charges after federal prosecutors say he operated a plane while drunk.

The U.S. attorney's office in Brooklyn says Dennis Murphy Jr. took a breathalyzer test on April 21, 2015 after JetBlue Flight 584 landed at JFK Airport that indicated a breath alcohol concentration of .111 percent, which is above the legal limit.

According to the criminal complaint, Murphy piloted JetBlue Flight 583 from Orlando to New York and JetBlue Flight 584 from New York to Orlando on that date and was administered the breath test after Flight 584 arrived back in JFK.

Murphy's co-pilot also told investigators that Murphy was drinking from an unknown beverage from a cup during both flights.

Murphy was arraigned in federal court in Brooklyn and released on $50,000 bond.

JetBlue says Murphy is no longer employed by the airline and that it has a zero tolerance drug and alcohol policy.

According to the criminal complaint, Murphy joined JetBlue in January 2015, but resigned from his post just four months later following the positive alcohol test.
