After a $400 million makeover, the Port Authority has reopened a runway at JFK Airport.

Runway 4 Left, 22 Right stretches more than two miles just south of Rockaway Boulevard.

The complex project was finished in three stages over one year. It features a more durable concrete surface and a high-speed taxiway to reduce delays.

The runway was also made longer and wider for overrun areas and larger aircraft.

This is the first time in months all four runways at the airport have been open at the same time.
