A public housing resident in Long Island City says she finally got NYCHA to repair what she said were dangerous conditions in her apartment.

Tameka Ramirez showed NY1 back on Friday July 3 how a wall in her Queensbridge apartment was so unstable it actually moved.

With an incinerator on the other side of the wall, Ramirez says she was worried about the safety of her children.

She says NYCHA told her it would not be able to send a contractor until September. Then, unexpectedly, a contractor showed up on Saturday July 4.

"I didn't get any phone call, not even a letter on the door saying that they were coming. And I've had the same phone number since I filled out the applications for this apartment so they should have the correct phone number," said Ramirez.

Ramirez says she asked the contractor to come back on Sunday and he completed the repairs.
