The city says it is ready for the wintry weather expected this weekend.

Sanitation workers have already deployed salt spreaders.

Some people NY1 spoke with said the storm is not a big deal, while others said they want to make sure they have enough food so they won't have to leave their homes.

"I'm supposed to go to Pennsylvania tomorrow. That's my problem, yeah. And I don't think we're going to make it," said one person

"I love snow, I love winter, and it's about time. I mean, that's why I live in New York. One season ends, you get another one coming," said another.

"I got the salt ready, got the shovels, everything else. Now just making sure there's enough snacks, I don't have to come back outside until Monday when it's time to go to work."

Sanitation officials say they have 424 salt spreaders and 1,500 plows ready, but they say they worry conditions could turn slick when temperatures drop Saturday night.
