GREECE, N.Y. — A major step forward Wednesday for one of the area's most highly anticipated restaurants.

Chick-fil-A will officially break ground on its new location in the town of Greece.

Groundwork is already laid down on the West Ridge Road site and the restaurant is expected to be done in late spring.

The restaurant is next to Standish Road, across from the Mall at Greece Ridge.

The more than 5,000 square-foot building will include an outdoor patio, dual-lane drive-thru and a two-story playground for kids.

It's one of four Chick-fil-As opening in Upstate New York, including Cicero, near Syracuse, as well as stores in the Buffalo and Plattsburgh areas.

Company officials expect that once it's up an running, the restaurant will create upwards of 100 new jobs.
