CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — An auction is scheduled for early next month to sell the property of the stalled Canandaigua Finger Lakes Resort project.

Canandaigua City Manager John Goodwin confirms the auction is scheduled for January 3rd, but Goodwin says the developers and contractor are working out a deal that could result in construction resuming in 2018.

The original plan for the resort included 164-hotel rooms, 22-for sale condos and boat-docking slips to the former Steamboat Landing.

However, those plans stalled and a $3.6 million judgment was issued against the developers to pay the contractor, Manning, Squires & Henning Company.

Goodwin says it is his understanding that developers David Genecco and Bob Murphy are negotiating a settlement with the contractor.

If the contractor is paid before the January 3rd deadline, there would be no auction.
