A low pressure system over the area gave the five boroughs a gray and damp Sunday, and afternoon temperatures struggled to get out of the 70s for just the second time this month. It was the fourteenth day this month that rain was recorded in Central Park.

We'll see the sunshine return on Monday, but, a light shower is possible in some areas during the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will rise a few degrees as well, but, are not expected to get out of the 70s.

Looking ahead, expect another chance of showers Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. Temperatures will warm into the low and mid 80s. Skies will then clear-out for the second half of the week, and the humidity will drop as well. Afternoon highs will remain in the low to mid 80s.
