The 14th Tribeca Film Festival kicks off Wednesday, and for the first time, it will have a headquarters where New Yorkers can go for screenings, concerts, panel discussions and interactive exhibits. NY1's George Whipple filed the following report.

The 2015 Tribeca Film Festival kicks off with a quintessential New York City film, "Live From New York!" This documentary about the first 40 years of Saturday Night Live will have its premiere Wednesday night at the Beacon Theater.

The Beacon will also play host to a reunion by the surviving members of Monty Python. The legendary comedy troupe will perform live following a screening of their 1975 classic "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."

R&B sensation Mary J. Blige will also have a live performance at the Beacon following the premiere of her new documentary "The London Sessions."

Downtown at Spring Studios, Tribeca will honor the late great Frank Sinatra with a screening of the classic film "On the Town," and a live tribute concert featuring Tony Bennett and more.

As it does every year, Tribeca will feature brand new works from a host of big stars. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin star in the zombie thriller "Maggie." "The Adderall Diaries" features James Franco, Amber Heard and Ed Harris in a drama about a novelist with writers' block. Ethan Hawke and January Jones star in the war film "Good Kill." And Olivia Wilde and Elisabeth Moss star in "Meadowland."

Top directors will also be on hand for the popular Tribeca Talks series. Participants include Christopher Nolan, Brad Bird and George Lucas in a live discussion with Stephen Colbert.

The festival closes with a special 25th anniversary celebration of "Goodfellas," starring Tribeca co-founder Robert De Niro. The cast will be on hand at the Beacon Theatre on Saturday, April 25 for a special live Q&A session with Jon Stewart.

The Tribeca Film Festival runs through April 26. For more information on tickets and screening times, visit tribecafilm.com.
