The Rangers' backs will be against the wall when they return to Madison Square Garden Friday after another heartbreaking loss in Washington.

Andre Burakovsky's second goal of the game just 24 seconds into the third period gave the Capitals a 2-1 lead.

The Rangers had a great chance to tie it later in the period when Carl Hagelin was awarded a penalty shot, but Braden Holtby made the save, and the Caps held on to win 2-1.

Washington now leads the series 3 games to 1. The only time the Rangers have ever come back from that deficit to win a series was last year in the same round against the Penguins.

Game 5 is Friday at the Garden. If necessary, game 6 will be back in D.C. on Sunday.
