The Rangers win a thriller in the first Winter Classic held in the city.

This was the 10th annual outdoor New Year's Day hockey game.

A packed crowd at Citi Field braved freezing temperatures to watch the Rangers square off with the Sabres.

The game went to overtime and J.T. Miller scored a power play goal to give New York a 3-2 win.

With the win, the Rangers move into a tie for third place in the Metropolitan Division, four points out of first.

The Rangers are back in their traditional home, Madison Square Garden Wednesday to face the Blackhawks.

Next year's Winter Classic will feature the Bruins and Blackhawks at Notre Dame Stadium.
