Governor Andrew Cuomo calls for special elections to be held in April to help fill 11 empty seats in the state legislature.

And it could determine the balance of power in the state Senate.

The governor says the elections will be held April 24.

Voters will head to the polls to fill nine vacant seats in the Assembly, and two in the Senate.

Three assembly seats and one senate seat here in the city are up for grabs.

They are all currently vacant.
