Residents of a Brooklyn apartment building dealing with mail delivery issues finally receive some good news after getting help from "NY1 For You." NY1's Susan Jhun filed this report.

It's one service these Brooklyn tenants are happy to have restored.

"Feels great, totally super. Every day, we're receiving mail!" says resident Yolanda White.

No small feat for tenants of this new building who went without mail delivery for two months. We told you about their predicament last week, after they reached out to us about a mix up with their address that completely stopped their mail.

"According to the post office, management never filled out the proper paperwork," White says.

A huge inconvenience to tenants who had to travel 2 miles to the Post office and wait on line to get their mail everyday.

"I was forced to go get a PO box and this doesn't make any sense. I have to go to the PO box six days a week and no one's paying my expenses," White says.

At the time, we spoke with management for the building and a representative told us while obtaining a new building address, they discovered the assigned address on Knickerbocker Avenue was in a different zip code than the residential entrance on Eldert Street, causing confusion with the post office. The representative said they have been trying to change the address.

We contacted the US Postal Service and a spokeswoman told us postal officials would investigate.

The next day, the spokeswoman told us, thanks to NY1 the USPS was alerted to the particulars regarding mail delivery at the address in question and regular mail delivery was resumed to the building.

She went on to say that postal officials are working closely with the building management so that guidelines are followed to ensure mail delivery may continue—relief for tenants who are happy to finally get their mail!

"Thanks to you guys, we really appreciate it," says resident Diana Diaz.
