A tornado touched down in West Seneca Saturday, uprooting a tree and ripping off a roof.

It first touched down in the 200 block of Greenmeadow Drive just before 2 p.m.

It tore a good chunk of the roof from a condominium complex.

The National Weather Service says the tornado was an EF-0, which means winds were between 65 and 75 miles per hour.

The tornado didn't gain much momentum, though -- it only traveled about the length of about two and a half football fields.

The sudden storm caught folks off guard none the less.

“I just looked out my window and I saw everything ripping off my house. I could literally feel it ripping off my house and then it just completely hailed, it looked like a blizzard, like a white out for a second, just so much hail just everywhere and then it was just over and then it’s been raining ever since,” said Vicki Vassilico, West Seneca.

No injuries were reported.

Residents will be able to stay in the condos as crews built a makeshift roof.
