Madison Square Garden became a place where dreams come true for high schoolers on Wednesday.

The Garden of Dreams Foundation threw its 5th annual prom at the venue for kids facing obstacles like illness, poverty and homelessness.

Makeup artists and hair dressers helped participants get prom ready, and the kids were outfitted with designer dresses and suits.

"I told my doctors about this so that I could get out of the hospitals…this is the thing that I've been looking forward to since I was told about it in January and I've been so excited ever since," said prom-goer Allison Child.

Before the event, the teens boarded a bus for a trip around the city followed by a strut down a red carpet.
