NEW YORK - The New York City Police Department is investigating a home invasion robbery in Manhattan. 

Police say a man approached an 88-year-old woman as she was about to enter her apartment Thursday at 305 West 28th Street in Chelsea.

He then pushed her to the ground and took her handbag.

Police say he ran off with about $150.

The victim refused medical attention. 

Police say the man is in his 40s and was last seen wearing a black cap with a square metal emblem on the front.
