Amtrak announced plans for another massive summer repair project at Penn Station, that will force changes for several commuter routes.

Renewal work will be performed on Track 19 at Penn Station, between June 9th and July 20th.

Schedules are still being developed, but Amtrak is promising fewer impacts and schedule changes compared to last summer.

Amtrak's COO says the Long Island Rail Road and New Jersey Transit will communicate with riders about any delays.

Amtrak riders will also be impacted by track work in the Empire Tunnel and the Spuyten Duyvil Bridge, which will cause some trains to be rerouted to Grand Central Terminal.

The project is expected to cost between 45 and 50 million dollars.
