NEW YORK - The NYPD is investigating a vicious subway attack in Manhattan that was caught on camera.

Surveillance video shows the attack during last Tuesday's evening rush at the 42nd Street-Times Square station. 

Investigators say the victim was waiting for his train when he was approached from behind by a man who punched and kicked him.

It's not clear what led to the incident.

The victim was treated at the scene for bruises to his face.
