Four NYPD officers were back in federal court Wednesday. They are accused of making illegal drug arrests to rack up overtime pay.

The officers were part of the narcotics division in 2014 when they arrested Hector Cordero inside a Brooklyn bodega for allegedly selling crack.

The charges were later dropped.

Cordero's attorneys say the officers only made the arrest to log extra hours.

They say the officers collectively earned $1,400 for working 20 additional hours.

The officers deny the charges and say they had a right to arrest Cordero.

If any of the officers are found liable, there could be a second trial looking at how arrests relate to overtime pay across the entire police department.
