TROY, N.Y. -- The Troy mother facing charges after a fire broke out in a house where her three children were home alone has been arraigned.

Charlyce Cherry, 27, pleaded not guilty to three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say all three of her children, ages 3, 8 and 9, got out of the house safely after it caught fire.

While Cherry can have contact with children, three orders of protection were issued for the children against Cherry, and she was released on probation.

Sunday's fire caused serious damage on all floors of the 4th Avenue home.

The cause remains under investigation but the fire chief does suspect that the children played a part.
