Some Brooklyn farmers are asking for your help so they can continue to help the homeless in the borough.

Bed-Stuy Farm started a fundraising campaign to keep it from closing down.

The farm, which grows fresh fruits and vegetables for it's local food pantry, was started by the non-profit Brooklyn Rescue Mission Urban Harvest Center.

Director Robert Johnson says the farm was created to provide healthier food to low-income residents and the homeless in their community.

"The food pantry needed fresher food. Donated food was good, but healthier food that's grown allows more nutrients to be able to touch people's hearts and lives and make them healthier citizens,"said Johnson.
