AUSTIN, Texas – A SWAT standoff ended on Monday night after police found a dead man inside of South Austin home.

What started out as a medical call quickly escalating into a SWAT situation, and now, a homicide investigation.

Police were trying to get a man out of the home in the 3000 block of Fontana Drive because they believed that he may have attacked a woman and was armed. After unsuccessful attempts to reach the man, SWAT teams sent in a robot that found the man dead.

On Wednesday, police identified the man as Kenneth "Kyle" Keller, 47. Detecitives are still trying to identify his cause of death.

Police were originally called out to Fontana Drive around 4 p.m. because neighbors reported seeing a woman in her 50s bleeding from her head. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Her identity is not being released at this time.

Authorities initially believed that Keller – possibly the woman's roommate or boyfriend – attacked her.

The APD SWAT team evacuated neighbors and shut down nearby streets. Residents were allowed to return home shortly after 9 p.m.

Detectives are now investigating what led to the man's death and the woman's injuries. They are questioning family members and neighbors at this time.

Authorities are also asking the public if they know anything thing about Keller or the woman who was hurt. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Tip Line at 512-477-3588 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS.
