Fire officials say the massive fire that ripped through several businesses in Inwood was caused by sparks from a nearby operating saw blade.
The line of stores on Nagle Avenue went up in flames around 10 a.m. Sunday. Flames spread quickly, destroying half a block — including a restaurant, liquor store, barbershop and dry cleaners.
It took about three hours and more than a 150 firefighters to get the flames under control. Six of them suffered minor injuries.
