Tech giant Google is helping seniors in the city become digital literate.

Google awarded a $100,000 grant to the not- for -profit Older Adults Technology Services to create a Digital Impact Communities Initiative .The program will help empower low-income older adults with technology skills . The skills will help them advocate for the issues that matter to them.

"The notion of seniors being digitally literate and using digital platforms to be able to rally to be able to commute communities together to be able to become activists in their later years is really exciting to Google," said Carley Graham-Garcia, Google NYC.

OATS will launch this tech program in five public housing developments across the city.
